Craters are generally mainly caused by the surface tension of water. It is also possible that particles with lower surface tension are mixed into the coating, and craters appear after drying. Another issue is compatibility. For instance, if some defoamers are too strong or not very compatible, it can also lead to pinholes. From the perspective of reducing the surface tension of water-based coatings, you can choose our DICAINUO® D100, DICAINUO® D102 or DICAINUO® D107 wetting agents. If it is a compatibility issue, it is recommended to use it in combination with our additives. For example, for defoamers, you can choose our DICAINUO® D216 defoamer. The leveling agent can be selected from our DICAINUO® D308 or DICAINUO® D333 leveling agent. Rheology modifiers can be selected from our DICAINUO®D501; The dispersant can be our DICAINUO®D701 and so on, which will have a better effect.

There are many reasons for the production of floating hair flowers. One is because the color paste is not compatible with the resin, and the other is because the pigment or filler is not sufficiently deflocculated and stable in the system. The third reason is that the pigment is not stable enough in the color paste. 

If you purchase color paste, we recommend that it be tested for compatibility and stability prior to use. 

If the color paste is ground by itself, it is recommended to use our DICAINUO®D700、DICAINUO®D701、DICAINUO®D 702 dispersant and matching DICAINUO®D the effect of 501 rheological agent and other auxiliaries is better.
